The federal government has raised the price of petrol by Rs3.47, setting the new rate at Rs256.13 per litre, effective from January 16 for next fortnight.

Additionally, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs2.61, bringing it to Rs260.95 per litre.

In the previous fortnightly review, petrol prices saw a modest increase of Re0.56, which raised the price to Rs252.66 per litre. Similarly, HSD prices were hiked by Rs2.96, taking the rate to Rs258.34 per litre.

These price adjustments come as part of regular fuel price revisions, which reflect fluctuations in global oil markets.
