Lana Del Rey reportedly stepped into the world of James Bond music, but not for a movie.
The singer is rumoured to be behind the theme song for the upcoming video game 007: First Light, set to release in March 2026.
Fans on Reddit recently spotted that a new track titled First Light was registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers under Del Rey’s real name, Elizabeth Grant.
The listing also mentioned Universal Music Corporation as the publisher, sparking buzz that the track could be tied to IO Interactive’s new Bond game.
Although no official statement has confirmed the link, the song’s title and timing have caused speculation to grow fast.
Del Rey’s history with the Bond franchise has only fueled the rumours, as in 2015, her song 24 was reportedly in the running for Spectre’s theme before Sam Smith’s Writing’s on the Wall was chosen.
During a 2024 interview with BBC News, the Summertime Sadness hitmaker even admitted, “I wrote that for them,” referring to *Spectre*.
Now, fans believe that this could be her long-awaited Bond moment.
IO Interactive, best known for the Hitman series, is making 007: First Light as a major reboot of the Bond gaming franchise.
However, many earlier Bond games featured original theme songs by top artists, now seemingly, a Lana Del Rey track wouldn’t be surprising.
Some fans think First Light could also appear on her upcoming album Stove, expected next year.
