Steelers rookie QB Will Howard is all gas and no brakes at OTAs — and WR Calvin Austin III has apparently taken notice.
According to PennLive’s reporter Nick Farabaugh, Austin was impressed with Howard’s development throughout the first four days of Steelers OTAs:
“Calvin Austin III told me he sees rookie quarterback Will Howard soaking in all the reps just from afar. From his point of view, he has seen things slow down for the rookie over four days.”
Howard previously spoke with reporters at last week’s OTAs about his early struggles — but seems to be making steady progress as he adapts to the NFL speed.
Here’s to hoping the Howard-to-Austin connection will be fruitful for years to come — as the Steelers are in desperate need of long-term answers at both the QB and WR2 positions.
