LA Clippers vs Miami Heat Starting Lineups and Depth Charts (Dec. 1)

    Published on

The Miami Heat look to get back in the win column in the final game of their four-game homestand as the LA Clippers come to town. This is the second and final meeting between the two nonconference teams, with the Heat winning the previous matchup on the road 120-119 in early November.

Miami’s six-game unbeaten run came to an abrupt end in a 138-135 loss to the Detroit Pistons. They made a valiant comeback late in the fourth quarter, cutting a 17-point Detroit lead to just two, but the Pistons closed the game out in the final minutes.

The team is now 9-2 at home and has been playing at an insanely fast pace this season. The return of Tyler Herro has swung the balance of their season, and positivity can continue to grow if results and performances remain steady in the coming weeks as they aim for a deep postseason run.

As for the Clippers, the season has not gone quite as planned, as they sit in 13th place in the Western Conference at 5-15. They lost to the Mavericks 114-110 on Saturday after blowing a 10-point lead.

With injuries and poor defense, LA has not had enough talent and depth to hang with some of the top teams in the league. They played 15 games in the month of November but won only two. They need to turn the tide, and they need to do so quickly. Nobody is hitting the panic button just yet, but snapping the winless run would help ease the growing tension.

The Heat are waiting to see whether Keshad Johnson (illness) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (groin) will be healthy enough for the game, as they are listed as questionable.

Coach Erik Spoelstra might tweak the lineup a bit, with Kel’el Ware potentially starting to handle the Clippers’ size. Ware, along with Andrew Wiggins, Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell and Tyler Herro is expected to make up the starting lineup.
