CHICAGO — The Michigan Wolverines have been awfully beat up late in the season, and the worst fear has been that the maize and blue would emerge from either the Northwestern or the Maryland games with a pivotal injury that could change the calculus of the Ohio State game. And it appeared as if the worst fears were realized.
While Michigan is still unsure of whether or not it will have Justice Haynes, who reportedly had foot surgery a few weeks back, his replacement as the starting running back, Jordan Marshall, appeared to have suffered some sort of upper body injury against the Wildcats.

However, according to head coach Sherrone Moore, it doesn’t appear to be a serious issue.
“No. Just got X-rays,” Moore said when asked if the injury was serious. “Feels like he’s in a good place. So he’s going to get a nice ice bath. Make sure he gets the best masseuse in town. They can take care of him. I can’t pay for that, obviously. So let him handle that. They’ve got plenty to handle that. So let’s take care of him and get him ready for these games that we’ve got coming up. We’re nice right now.”
Marshall had 19 carries for 142 yards and two touchdowns against Northwestern. His replacement in-game, Bryson Kuzdzal, had 15 carries for 53 yards — but made some key runs late, when the Wolverines were working to win the game, down 22-21.
Up next, the Wolverines will face Maryland, with the game time yet to be announced as of this writing.
